Orchestra Consona

     The ACCORDION ORCHESTRA OF THE CITY OF VILNIUS „CONSONA”, which is directed by Professor Lithuanian Academy of Music Ričardas SVIACKEVIČIUS, is known as professional group, who actively give concerts.
     Rita AUKSORIŪTĖ and Vladimir VOSKAN are also directors of the orchestra.
     The orchestra was founded in the autumn of 1997. Accordion teachers from Music Schools of Vilnius play in it. The orchestra has given very successful concerts in Poland, Germany, Austria, Italia, France, Finland, Spain, Hungary and Greece has participated in international festivals in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. The greatest success and recognition of the orchestra is second place won on October 2000 CITTA DI CASTELFIDARDO Competition in Italy and the title of winner of an international competition.
     Orchestra has recorded accordion music for the Lithuanian Radio Fund. The nationally renowned soloists have worked with the group. Adaptations of classical composers, original music and popular music predominate in the orchestra’s repertoire.
     Accordion duets, quintet “Cantus”, ensemble „4tango“ (manager Kristina Žebrauskaitė), jazz trio “Chill Out”, duo „Subitlu-Z“ usually participates in traditional Christmas performances of Orchestra. During past 10 years over 110 concerts were arranged, nearly 100 pieces of music were performed.
