Liudmila Slekonyte was born in Postovy (Belarus), in 1959. Since the very early childhood Liudmila absorbed traditional folk accordion playing from her father.
      L. Slekonyte graduated from Kaunas J. Gruodis higher music school R. Pliskiene accordion class in 1977. The perfeormer‘s way to the grand scene started already in the higher music school. While studying in Kaunas, she was consulting with various performers and pedagogues in Kiev and Moscow. Liudmila became the laureate of many republican and Baltic states competitions.
      After graduation, in 1983, L. Slekonyte came back to Lithuania and since then she is doing pedagogical job and also actively playing the concerts.
